Jill Dickson

Office Manager
“Early years is my passion, with managing my own setting always being my goal in life. I have three children who help make my home life busy and fun! I absolutely love being in the heart of children's learning, creating and being part of life long learning outcomes.”
“I have worked in childcare for 16 years, I joined the cygnets team 15 years ago. I have 2 children who have grown and flourish in to wonderful young men of which I'm very proud. I enjoy working at cygnets especially seeing the children happy, growing in confidence and becoming more independent for the next stages in their lives.”
After becoming a mother to 3 beautiful girls I joined Cygnets when my children were at school and have been here for 15 years. I love to see the children learning and having lots of fun along the way. Outside of Cygnets I love crafts and up cycling. I always have a positive attitude and put 100% into whatever i am doing.
I joined the Cygnets team five years ago and am a qualified Level 3 Key Person. I have been working in education for 20 years in various roles, from primary school teacher, teaching assistant and now a pre-school assistant. All the roles have brought different challenges but all involve caring for and nurturing children which is where I am happiest.
“I’m a mum of 2, I’ve always wanted to be a mum and work with children. I love helping the children become engaged in their play and watch them flourish in their childhood.”
“I am an enthusiastic level 3 Nursery Nurse with a distinction in music practice. This will be my 9th year working in the care industry and on top of my passion for working with children I am also a singer/songwriter in the local area. I also enjoy writing children’s songs and with my creativity, my future dream would be to teach and inspire education to children through music.”
I have been working at Cygnets since 2011, I have just completed my Level 3 qualification. It is so rewarding being part of the team here at Cygnets, watching the children flourish and grow into “Big School” children. We love to let them get mucky and learn through their play. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 girls, walking our dog and running.
I qualified in Childcare in 1998 and started work in a Nursery in Trowbridge, leaving in 2002 to go on maternity leave. Both of my sons attended Cygnets and I helped out regularly while my youngest attended. When he started school in 2010 I started working as supply staff and have been now been a permanent member of staff since 2011. I enjoy working at Cygnets, helping to provide a safe, secure and fun environment. I love watching the children grow and develop, and listening to them communicate with their peers.
My role at Cygnets is based in the Office where I maintain the books and records, ensure the correct funding is received, provide financial information for the Committee and carry out administration duties. I started in 2006 just after my son began at Cygnets, following his sister a few years previously.

“It was spending a summer at the age of 15 working in a crèche where my Mum worked that made me realise how much I enjoyed working with children.15 years later and I still love watching the children develop and learn through the play experiences that we provide. It is a lovely feeling when years down the line you see the children you have cared for as independent young people walking to school in their uniform and they recognise you for all the fun that you provided.”

After looking after my two little sisters and babysitting for the last couple of years I realised how much I enjoy working with children and love seeing them become independent little people.
I have been working in childcare for eighteen years with various different ages and in different types of settings I also have two children of my own.
